Article V. VEHICLES FOR HIRE |
§ 22-224. Duties of vehicle for hire company or owner.
(a)
A vehicle for hire company or owner shall maintain a valid and current vehicle for hire business permit as issued by the Palm Beach County Division of Consumer Affairs.
(b)
A vehicle for hire company or owner shall be responsible for the compliance of each of its drivers with the requirements of this article.
(c)
Any certificate of use issued by the city for a vehicle for hire company or owner is contingent upon the vehicle for hire company's/owner's compliance with the provisions of this article.
(d)
A vehicle for hire company or owner shall ensure that its vehicles for hire comply with all requirements for vehicles for hire established by Palm Beach County ordinances;
(e)
Each vehicle for hire shall comply with all equipment and safety standards contained in F.S. ch. 316 and any other applicable state law. No vehicle for hire shall be operated with more passengers than the manufacturer's recommendations for the maximum number of occupants.
(f)
Each vehicle for hire shall be insured in the types and amounts required by F.S. ch. 324. Any vehicle for hire not expressly identified in the insurance requirement provisions of F.S. ch. 324 shall be covered by insurance in the same types and amounts as vehicles for hire identified by such chapter.
(g)
A vehicle for hire company or owner shall not permit any person to drive a vehicle for hire unless such person has a valid and current Florida driver's license.
(h)
A vehicle for hire company or owner shall not permit any person to drive a vehicle for hire unless such person has a valid and current vehicle for hire I.D. badge, issued by Palm Beach County.
