Article XVIII. PARKLETS |
§ 78-491. Definitions.
[The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:]
Block face means the frontage of a city block, from one public street to another.
Buffer zone means the space between the parklet area and the parking or travel lanes, see figure XVIII-2
Parklet means a seating platform that converts curbside parking spaces into vibrant community spaces that may provide amenities such as: seating, landscaping, bicycle parking, art, among others.
Parklet base means the designated space for the parklet fixtures and may include; decking, base, foundation, among other elements, see figure XVIII-1.
Parklet fixtures means the elements provided within the parklet providing amenities and may include; tables, chairs, umbrellas, among other elements, see figure XVIII-1.
Parklet screen means the vertical elements separating the parklet base from adjacent travel lanes or parking spaces and may include; landscaping, railing, among other elements, see figure VIII-1.
Sidewalk means that portion of the right-of-way which is located between the curb line or the lateral line of a street and the adjacent property line and which is intended for use by pedestrians.
