§ 78-9. City datum or plane of reference.

(a)

The city datum or official city base or plane of reference for elevations in the city is hereby fixed as the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD-29), as established by the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey.

(b)

All official elevations, including but not restricted to sidewalk, street and sewer grades, hereafter established in the city shall be described with reference to their elevations, as compared with the official city datum in feet and decimals of a foot. No grade or official elevation shall be established other than in the manner prescribed in this section.
