§ 74-83. Obstructing code enforcement officers in the performance of their duties.

  • (a)

    No person shall oppose, obstruct, or resist a code enforcement officer in the discharge of his or her duty, as provided in this article, shall be guilty of a violation, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided in chapter 26.

    (b)

    Code enforcement officers who are not city law enforcement officers shall notify the city police department immediately when in their judgment they are being opposed, obstructed or resisted in the performance of their duties, and an arrest or other lawful restraint becomes the appropriate response to a situation.
