§ 62-319. Functions and powers.

  • The functions and powers of the civil service board shall include:

    (1)

    To adopt and amend regulations, as provided in this article, for the selection, examination, qualification, registration, employment, promotion, and tenure of all employees in the classified service;

    (2)

    To prepare such reports relative to its functions as may be requested by the city commission;

    (3)

    To advise and assist the human resources director in the improvement of personnel standards in the city service;

    (4)

    To make any investigation deemed desirable concerning the administration of classified personnel in the city service; and to report at least annually to the city commission its activities and its findings, conclusions, and recommendations for the improvement of the classified service; and

    (5)

    To hear appeals as provided in this division on the complaint of an officer or employee in the classified service.
