  • (a)

Merit raise or increase. All merit increases for employees shall be justified and approved in writing and shall be consistent with the salary resolution in effect at the time.

    (b)

Probationary period. Upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period, employees shall receive a five percent salary increase.

    (c)

Promotions. Upon promotion, an employee shall receive the minimum of the range for the promotional position or five percent, whichever is greater. Increases granted at time of promotion shall establish a new anniversary date upon which future merit increases shall be considered. If an employee does not satisfactorily complete a promotional probationary period and is returned to his former classification, his salary level shall be reduced to the same level prior to promotion. The employee will, however, be eligible to receive any increases equal to the amount he would have been eligible to receive had he not been promoted.
