§ 62-53. Bonus upon separation from service after 30 or more years of service.

  • All employees who shall have completed 30 or more years of continuous service shall, upon separation from service, in good standing, be awarded one month's salary for such loyal service. The one month's salary is regular salary at the time of separation, excluding overtime pay, and is subject to social security and withholding tax deductions and is, in addition to payment for accrued leave or other sums, rightfully due under the salary plan. This salary shall not be considered compensation or contributing service of the employee as to any city pension.
