§ 54-291. Mooring or anchoring live-aboard vessels in the waters of Lake Worth prohibited; definition; exceptions.

  • (a)

    Mooring or anchoring of live-aboard vessels in the waters of Lake Worth prohibited. It shall be unlawful to moor or anchor a live-aboard vessel as defined in subsection (b) of this section in the waters of Lake Worth within the city.

    (b)

    Definition. As used in this section, the term "live-aboard vessel" means any vessel used solely as a residence, a place of business, a professional or commercial enterprise excluding commercial fishing, or a legal residence, while moored or anchored within the city.

    (c)

    Exceptions. This prohibition shall not apply to live-aboard vessels moored or anchored either:

    (1)

    In a marina zoning district or in a mooring area so designated by the city commission and posted as such; or

    (2)

    For the purpose of making emergency repairs but limited to a period of 48 hours.
