§ 50-34. Qualifications of members; compensation; vacancies.
(a)
A city commissioner may be appointed to serve as a liaison between the library advisory board and the city commission. Library advisory board members shall represent education, neighborhood associations, local business, and community based organizations which can contribute to enhancement of the library's contribution to the residents of the city.
(b)
Members of the library advisory board shall serve without compensation. Vacancies shall be filled within 30 days in the same manner as original appointments.
(c)
Members shall be required to attend all regular and special meetings of the library advisory board. The chair of the library advisory board shall notify the mayor when a member accumulates three consecutive absences or when a member fails to attend 60 percent of the meetings of the library advisory board. Such member may be removed, and, upon such removal, the mayor shall appoint a new member to complete the unexpired term of office.
