§ 2-412. Head of department; functions and powers; division.

(a)

The head of the parks and recreation department shall be known as the director of parks and recreation.

(b)

The director of parks and recreation shall be responsible for the development and implementation of programs that provide recreational, educational and developmental opportunities for youth, teens, adults, seniors and families to enhance the quality of life and nurture the health and well-being of the community. The director of parks and recreation shall also be responsible for the care of the city's parks, open spaces and recreational facilities.

(c)

The parks and recreation department shall include the following divisions:

(1)

Parks and grounds maintenance division;

(2)

Recreation division; and

(3)

Community events division.
