§ 22-415. Prohibited purchase of certain articles.

  • (a)

    No secondhand goods dealer shall purchase any item that is manufactured with a serial number or other identifying insignia unless said item shall have plainly visible thereon the manufacturer's serial number or other identifying insignia, and does not show obvious signs or evidence of obliteration, alteration or removal of the manufacturer's serial number or other identifying insignia.

    (b)

    No person shall purchase or receive any article:

    (1)

    Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.;

    (2)

    From any person intoxicated or under the age of 18 years without written consent of a parent or guardian; and

    (3)

    From a person known or suspected to be a thief or a receiver of stolen property.
