§ 22-101. Registration required.

  • (a)

    Any person engaging in any business, occupation or profession within the city without a permanent business location or branch office in the city, but holding a valid and currently effective business tax receipt issued by the county or another incorporated municipality, shall be issued a certificate of registration upon registering with the business tax official.

    (b)

    Any contractor or subcontractor not maintaining a permanent business location or branch office in the city shall be required to register with the city before conducting business within the city. A contractor who holds a valid countywide contractor's license, in addition to a county business tax receipt shall register with the city.

    (c)

    Before the city shall be required to issue a certificate of registration for engaging in or carrying on any business, profession or occupation specified in this chapter, it shall be the duty of the person or contractor to file an application as provided in this chapter, accompanied by such other state, countywide or other municipal license relied upon and other information as set forth in the city's application requirements.

    (d)

    Nothing contained in this section shall prohibit the city from charging and collecting regulatory fees as permitted by F.S. ch. 166.

    (e)

    Any person or contractor violating this provision by failing to register with the business tax official shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in section 1-13.
