§ 18-233. Enforcement.

  • The city may seek enforcement of this article through the enforcement methods provided in F.S. ch. 162 and in chapter 26 of this Code, subject to the following provisions: A person who has been issued a citation for violating this article may contest the citation by appearing in the county court, at such date, time and place as is fixed by the county clerk's office, or by requesting a hearing before the special magistrate in accordance with the procedures set forth in chapter 26, article II, of this Code. A hearing may be initiated within ten calendar days of the effective date of the citation by filing a written notice of request for hearing before the special magistrate with the code enforcement office. The hearing shall be placed on the next regularly scheduled special magistrate's hearing. Appeals from the decisions of the special magistrate shall be to a court of competent jurisdiction by a writ of certiorari.
